General Tips for Dry Eye Patients
By Dr. Abdalrahman Alabsi – Ophthalmologist | Last reviewed: October 2026
1. Avoid direct air currents — from air conditioners or fans.
2. Wear sunglasses when exposed to sun or wind.
3. Remember to blink often when using electronic devices for long periods.
4. Position your screen about 20 degrees below eye level to reduce the exposed area of the eye's surface.
5. Follow the 20-20-20 rule — every 20 minutes of screen time, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
6. See your doctor regularly to monitor your condition and adjust your treatment plan when needed.
